SLEEPY NIGHT by Matteo Nasini – ERMES

Tomorrow, Thursday May 22, sees the opening of Sleepy Night, the solo show by Italian artist Matteo Nasini – as the opening event of Ermes, an art project founded in 2014, presenting work by young Italian and international artists. Ermes doesn’t have its own space, but each project will be hosted by a different venue: galleries, project spaces, museums or others. This first project will be hosted in the space of The Gallery Apart in Rome. Ermes will present three appointments in this venue, the next one will open in December 2014 and the third one in 2015.  (more…)

Q&A with Menabrea Art Prize winner Diego Marcon

Diego Marcon (1985) has won the Menabrea Art Prize 2013 organized by Untitled Association and Birra Menabrea. Thanks to winning the prize, he realized the work Interlude (introducing Dick the Stick) of which here we publish some sketches. We asked Diego some questions about his practice.



A new chapter of the online investigation on the role of brands, logos and consumer goods in contemporary aesthetics, by American artist Kari Altmann, has been launched recently. Continuing the discourse initiated with Soft Brand Abstracts: Closer than ever before (also appeared in the issue n.31 of NERO), this new online contribution is titled Soft Brand Abstracts: World Exposé 2012-2014-ongoing and has been commissioned and presented within the context of the exhibition Brands – Concept/Affect/Modularity, curated by Melanie Bühler at Salts, Switzerland.
