Theaster Gates: True Value and Nástio Mosquito: T.T.T.—Template Temples of Tenacity at Fondazione Prada in Milan
Fondazione Prada will present the exhibitions True Value and T.T.T. —Template Temples of Tenacity from 7 July to 25 September 2016 by Theaster Gates and Nástio Mosquito, respectively. Conceived by Elvira Dyangani Ose as independent projects, the two exhibitions will include installations, site-specific works and projections, as well as collective experiences and musical events that will actively involve the public. Captain (Retired) Mauricio Gris, a former Camera Combat Team Leader currently collaborating as a freelancer for BBC Newsnight, will present an account of his battlefield experiences, while introducing the impact of warfare conditions in the collection of visual materials.
Christian Marazzi will actively challenge the discussion by presenting means of economic thinking, besides introducing his considerations on the systematisation of financial realities as these are slowly shifting from economies of language to economies of war. (more…)
Capturing Dance – Dance Documentation as Artistic Practice sheds new light for the first time in the field of dance on an artistic approach to dance documentation. Since June last year, participants have been artistically examining and illuminating the interdependence between choreography, performance and documentation. 24 June sees the premiere of the film Concrete Park, which brings together the results of the year-long artistic research project and will be presented in the context of an installation.
