NO FLOOR edition launch at NERO hq

28 February 2013

No Floor is a web-based stage for streaming happenings, performances and Internet interventions, conceived and developed by NERO collaborator, artist and art director Federico Proietti.

Next Saturday at the NERO headquarters, No Floor presents it second edition by Swiss artist Lorenzo Bernet, based on his online performance Distrattenzione, which took place last October on

During a weekly course of concentration training that he attended in Zurich, Lorenzo Bernet decided to stream a live session of HEG therapy (Hämoencephalography), a computer assisted feedback training method to enhance oxygenation in the frontal brain that results in increased performance of cognitive tasks.

While watching nature documentaries, Bernet wore an infrared sensor headband that interrupted the video flow by sudden stops and stutters as soon as he temporarily lost focus, creating involuntary video stills or ‘snapshots.’

These interruption stills will be presented at NERO hq in the form of a photographic edition. As usual, once a happening has taken place on No Floor, it disappears from the web, leaving behind a material object which is separate, but still contains a trace of the event to be spread throughout the off-line world.

Lorenzo Bernet is an artist born in 1986, he lives in Zürich (CH) and is currently attending a master program at Zürcher Hochschule der Künste. His practice spans across a variety of media and is generally concerned with working methods of the creative economies. Recent exhibitions include Twenty Something in Europe, soloshow at Pleasant, Copenhagen and Regiopark – Studiolo Furniture, duoshow with Yannic Joray at Kunsthalle Liestal.
