Nicola Pecoraro – ,tendril‘
Following the close of Nicola Pecoraro’s exhibition ,tendril‘ at Ve.Sch, NERO is pleased to publish a collection of images along with a complete unpublished video from the show and a brief text written by the artist himself:
In one room there are five images which can be best described as both holes and objects. They are laying on top of a surface and simultaneously they are the opening of the surface, revealing a landscape, or an object, underneath, or beyond, as if the choice was between a glimpse and something right in front the eye, between a polished, finished object and the promise of something large and mysterious, to be peeked at through a warped tear in a certain kind of fabric. The images lay flat on wooden panels that lean on the wall, floating between a picture and something that’s been casually discarded.
In the other room, a looped projection, showing some kind of struggle to get out of a confined watery space, which never gets resolved. One could think about depth, and the lack thereof, and how deceiving they both can be.
