Inflected Objects website launch
The website accompanying the project Inflected Objects is now online. Inflected Objects is a project encompassing a series of exhibitions, texts and commissions, whose first exhibition Inflected Objects #1 Abstraction – Rising Automated Reasoning is currently on view at the Istituto Svizzero Milano. Two online commissions are to be launched this month, both relating to the theme of abstraction (the first chapter of the project) in different ways.
Jenna Sutela’s work Let’s Play: Life, currently on view on the site, is based on the Let’s Play format that typically documents a playthrough of a video game by including commentary by the gamer. In Sutela’s work, the audio piece emulates a computer playing through the Game of Life, which is a classic cellular automaton that simulates systems in the real world by abstracting their properties.
Sophie Jung’s work algorithm I said all go rhythm, online this Wednesday 17 June, responds to the online presentation of the exhibition on view at the Istitiuto Svizzero in Milano. Taking apart the texts of the exhibition and working with its documentation, the artist created her own (algo)rhythmic interpretation of the exhibition’s afterlife.
Inflected Objects is a project initiated by the Istituto Svizzero di Roma and curated by Melanie Bühler and Valerio Mannucci.
