CY TWOMBLY: REWRITING HISTORY, Nicholas Cullinan at the American Academy in Rome

On the occasion of the exhibition Cy Twombly, Photographer at the  American  Academy in Rome, Nicholas Cullinan will give on the revivification of the past, whether it be history or myth, in Cy Twombly’s paintings, drawings, sculpture and photography.

Cullinan is Director of the National Portrait Gallery, London. He was previously Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York and Curator of International Modern at Tate Modern in London, where he co-curated with Nicholas Serota the 2008 exhibition Cy Twombly: Cycles and Seasons. In 2011 he curated the exhibition Twombly and Poussin: Arcadian Painters at Dulwich Picture Gallery, London. He has lectured and published on Twombly widely.
