Phil Collins’ edition is now available on NERO
NERO is pleased to announce that more copies of Phil Collins’ my heart’s in my hand, and my hand is pierced, and my hand’s in the bag, and the bag is shut, and my heart is caught are now available.
The edition, produced by NERO and Shady Lane Productions, is a double 12” album and booklet that recounts Phil Collins’ project developed in collaboration with the GULLIVER survival station for the homeless in Cologne. The double LP comes in a silkscreened gatefold sleeve and collects 13 tracks by international artists such as Scritti Politti, David Sylvian, Julia Hummer, Peaking Lights and Heroin In Tahiti.
In 2013 in GULLIVER center, Collins installed a phone booth with a free line that anyone could use for unlimited local and international calls on the agreement that the conversations would be recorded and anonymised. The selected material was posted to a group of international musicians, serving as the starting point for original new songs presented as 7” vinyl records in specially designed listening booths which overlooked the city’s central station. The booklet features original texts by Mark Fisher and Florian Schneider and transcriptions of some of the original telephone conversations.
