Amsterdam Art Weekend 2015

Annually, at the end of November, Amsterdam Art Weekend and RijksakademieOPEN mark the most celebrated event for contemporary art in the Dutch capital. The city is transformed into an international meeting point for professionals operating in the field of contemporary art and the general public. Taking place from the 26th to the 29th of November this year, Amsterdam Art Weekend  is an extensive program of over 0ver 90 exhibitions, performances, screenings and conversations, in which more than 50 of Amsterdam’s art venues showcase the most recent developments in contemporary art. The weekend’s carefully curated program brings together the city’s diverse network of galleries, project spaces, art institutions and residency programs, hence providing visitorswith the opportunity to engage with a variety of spaces and approaches.

Participants include 50 galleries and project spaces, as well as de Appel arts centre, De Ateliers, EYE, Foam, International Documentary Film Festival (IDFA), Manifesta, Oude Kerk, de Rijksakademie van beeldende kunsten, Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam and Stedelijk Museum Bureau Amsterdam (SMBA).
