miart 2016 – collateral events

NERO is pleased to announce that this year miart 2016 will renew and increase the close collaboration launched in the latest editions with the realities operating in the city for the promotion and knowledge of art. Working with the City of Milan, miart will lead the way during contemporary art week, which includes a program of events, openings and special visiting hours involving public institutions, foundations and private galleries, starting on the 5th of April, throughout the period of the fair.

Every day there are special visits and openings, starting with the 21st Milan Triennale 21st Century. Design After Design – which will be held in many public and private institutional spaces around the city.

There will also be special opening times for the city at Fondazione Prada where the exhibition Thomas Demand: l’Image Volée will remain on show until the 28th of August 2016; special visits to the exhibitions in progress at Palazzo Reale – 2050 and the shows on Umberto Boccioni and Symbolism – the exhibition of the winning artist of the Premio Acacia at Museo del Novecento; special hours with guided visits at PAC, GAM, Palazzo della Ragione and MUDEC, and a many other appointments during miart 2016 in Milan.

Gallery T293, in collaboration with independent curator Alessandro Buganza, has created an impromptu project in a pop-up space in via Gabba 1. The gallery owners and curator have selected the following artists: Henry Chapman, Claire Fontaine, Henrik Olai Kaarstein, Sonia Kacem and Dan Rees.

There will also be new be exhibitions at the independently run spaces Fanta, Armada, MEGA and Case Chiuse, amongst others.

Until the 29th of May,  Fanta Spazio will show Wynne Greenwood, tracy + the Plastics.
The group exhibition Where Wild Flowers Grow can be visted at Armada  until the 1st of May. It includes works by Gianluca Belloni, Daniele Bonini, Alessandro Conti, Marco Conoci, Isabella Costabile, Emiliano Furia, Lorenza Longhi, Pius Marco Mucci, Matteo Pomati, Margherita Raso, Massimo Vaschetto, Ilaria Vinci.

MEGA, in Piazza Vetra, opens its doors with the project Unghiaby Diego Perrone and Andrea Sala.
Finally,  Case Chiuse has opted for another space to show artist Nico Vascellari’s project (Via Necchi, 14: the house of Ilaria Bonacossa) opening on the 4th and 6th of April 2016 from 6pm to 9pm. It can, however, be visited until the 14th of April.
