Cinematic Migrations is the title chosen by Renée Green for the XXII edition of CSAV – Artists Research Laboratory that will be held in Como from 1 July – 23 July 2016.

On occasion of the laboratory, a programme of events (open and free of charge) will be open to the public in July.
On Thursday 7 July 2016 at 6:30pm at FAR’s conference room, Renée Green will give a lecture Other Planes of There, talking about her work; the talk will be followed by the screening of her 2009 film Endless Dreams and Water Between? The outdoor screening will take place at 9pm in the park of Villa del Grumello and is part of the 2016 edition of the Lake Como Film Festival.

On Thursday 14 July 2016 at 7:30pm Renée Green’s exhibition, Tracing, will open at Spazio Culturale Antonio Ratti, Ex Chiesa di San Francesco. The show will include Renée Green’s new work Space Poem #6 (Tracing), created especially for the Como exhibition and produced by FAR.

Lastly, CSAV’s program includes – on Thursday 21 July 2016 at 7pm – a lecture by Kobena Mercer, Professor of History of Art and African American Studies at Yale University. The lecture The Image in Migration will expand on the subject of “migration,” of people and images, and on how artists and film directors have engaged with histories of travel, exile and diaspora.
