Stalker Archive in Zurich

Stalker Archive, Venice 2016

The exhibition presents the action sites of Stalker/Osservatorio Nomade in its twenty years of activity since the foundation in Rome in 1995. With its presentation Stalker wants to stimulate new actions, to stratify the relationship with their sites and to weave together the memory of its experiences and the experience of its memories. The nomadic archive presents the explorative travel of the collective through the uncertain lands in between Europe and the Mediterranean sea, in between art and city, in between formation and transformation.

The archive is striving to be collaborative, since the practice itself is shared in years with artists, researchers and inhabitants on the sites investigated. This is why Stalker invites everybody to gather memories, testimonies, documents or materials about those actions and participate in the construction of the archive. Very welcome are also all the people that have no memory of it, but would like to use our memories as a new experience.

The Archive, is a nomadic project initiated by Stalker together with, and supported by the Instituto Svizzero di Roma, which was presented earlier in Venice at the Microclima/Serra dei Giardini and is now invited to the Baubiliothek of ETH Zurich by the chair of Philip Ursprung.
