“Mozzarella in carrozza: Ricette d’artista” Book Presentation and Talk at Galleria Carla Sozzani, Milano

On Thursday December 14th at 7pm, Galleria Sozzani hosts a book presentation and conversation between Silvia Macchetto, author of Mozzarella in carrozza: Ricette d’artista, and artists Stefano Arienti, Loredana Di Lillo and Vedovamazzei, with an introduction by critic Alberto Saibene.

Mozzarella in carrozza is an unpublished collection of cooking recipes developed by 40 visual Italian artists, organized in alphabetical order according to the names of the authors who made them up and not ordered by scope or type of food, as in traditional recipe books. Main courses, desserts, cocktails, dinners, exotic dishes or family traditions: they all become a confession of the artists’ personality, their relationship with food, and an unconventional way to access their art.

Silvia Evangelisti writes: “An intimate book, made of fine talk and light confessions, of stories and recipes that are familiar with home and past, as a result of memory and the extraordinary capacity to reshuffle that artists have … this little world seasoned with art, all sort of good things, as the table asks. In this case, a palette.”

Silvia Macchetto has worked as international consultant in the field of arts and culture communication for museums, public and private institutions for over fifteen years. She is grateful to the art world and the artists she had the privilege to meet, for having taught her the infinite potential of expressive codes. She does not cook.
