Portrait of Jennie

Most of the time the images caught out of the corner of our eye are the realest to us: Portrait of Jennie is an artist book that investigates the transformation of the image within time and space, determined by our visions and projections, influenced by our needs and desires, in private and social contexts.

Taking its title from a novel by the American author Robert Nathan – in which the main character, an artist, faces the impossibility of drawing a portrait of a young girl due to her death – Portrait of Jennie is born within a shared space between artist Marco Fedele di Catrano and curator Vitaly Patsyukov. The book consists of video stills and photos, interspersed among signs, hieroglyphs, formulas and drawings.
